The Board of Directors (the “Board”) of State Insurance Company Limited (the “Company” or “SICL”) announces the appointment of Aarion A. Nicholas as Chief Executive Officer. As Chief Executive, Ms. Nicholas will be responsible for leading SICL’s growth initiatives and build on its industry-leading transformation to a regional entity.
With 14 years industry experience and a solid track record of leadership and execution, Ms. Nicholas is a highly respected professional who will continue to propel the Company forward. She most recently served as Executive Manager with responsibility for the General Insurance Department, having joined the SICL team in September 2020. Her multifaceted experience within the industry, and extensive training lend to a well-rounded professional with a passion for insurance. The essence of her leadership traits is captured in one of her favorite quotes - “Integrity, insight, and inclusiveness are the three essential qualities of leadership”.
Ms. Nicholas is an alumnus of the University of the West Indies with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance (BSc). She is also a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designee and holds an associate degree in Reinsurance (ARe). Her previous endeavors include regional exposure and time spent within the London market where she gained further insight and international exposure at Lloyd's of London. She is an Executive Member of the Antigua Barbuda Employers Federation and presiding Chairman of the Insurers Association of Antigua and Barbuda.

Mr. Andre Knight, State Insurance Company Limited's Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer to continue the progress that the company has made and to ensure that the company continues to live up to its mandate. Mr. Knight has been with the company for 20 years and will be supported by the Board of Directors and a highly experienced team of Managers and Staff along with our Partners.

As an indigenous organization, State Insurance Company Limited has always taken its corporate social responsibilities very seriously. Keeping with our motto “Live in a better State of mind”, we saw the need to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate in our community.
On 30th April 2021, we undertook the task of providing hot meals to them. The event took place at the SICL Parking Lot on Redcliffe Street where upwards of 50 meals were distributed.
Special thanks are extended to the Internal Audit Department as well as the Marketing team for assisting in making the event a success.
